Summary: Mandate to the chapter of York for correction of Nicholas de Erghes, calling himself vicar of Sherburn in Elmet (Schirburn), for leading a dissolute life, said to have been impudently indulging in frequenting taverns; drunkenness; fornication; incontinence; play going; acting as an accomplice; fighting and brawling, in contempt of divine service, setting a bad example to parishioners and scandalising the neighbourhood (details given).
