Summary: Letter of Robert de Pykering [Pickering] [vicar general], to Roger de Thornton, keeper of the spirituality of Hexham, informing him that a letter of the vicar general, confirming that, despite the appointment by the archbishop of Brother Gilbert de Ponteburgi [Boroughbridge], canon of Nostell, as prior of Hexham, following the retirement of Brother Thomas de Fennewyk, the previous prior, the right of the convent of Hexham to elect a prior in future would not be prejudiced, was to be delivered only in the case of disobedience of the convent.
