Summary: Court proceedings (acta) in the ex officio cause opened before the archbishop, then continued before others, against the prior and convent of Hexham (Hextildesh') for irregularities in institution of vicars: to answer for articles discovered during a visitation concerning William de Poynton, priest, formerly vicar of Great Edstone, now admitted to the church of Alston (Aldeston) in the archdeaconry of Northumberland, and Simon de Salton, present vicar of Great Edstone, for not having been instituted canonically (details of process given).
