| Summary: | Certification to the archbishop by Adam de Twysilton [Twistleton], advocate of the court of York, of a commission (recited) to him and Master Thomas Sampson, official of the court of York, to enquire into the vacancy in the church of St Michael, Spurriergate (Sancti Michaelis ad Pontem Use), York, to which John de Stafford has been presented by the abbot and convent of St Mary's, York, and if they are satisfied with his merits and the abbey's right to present, to institute and induct him into this church, reserving to the archbishop the taking of his oath; with response that they have duly instituted Stafford into the church and given orders for his induction. |
