| Summary: | Letters dimissory for the rector of Thorpe Bassett (Thorp Basset), subdeacon, to proceed to all higher orders. |
| Language: |
Latin
|
| Subject: |
Letters dimissory
|
| Note: |
The rector's name is not given, but is presumably the 'John de Mittlinton' presented by the Crown on 17 May 1302 during a vacancy in the abbey of St Albans, the holder of the advowson (CPR 1301-7, p. 36), who received a licence to study as 'John de Mutlintone' in 1307 (Register 7, fol. 193v). The available details would suggest that he came from Mickleton in Gloucestershire.
