| Summary: | Letter to Ralph [Baldock], bishop of London, principal collector with the bishop of Lincoln of the clerical tenth lately imposed [seven papal tenths of 1305], seeking remedy for the levying of the tenth from the archbishop in the county of Gloucestershire by the abbot of Gloucester, subcollector in the diocese of Worcester. The archbishop and his predecessors are accustomed to pay 2000 marks towards such tenths, to the abbot of St Mary, York, and no other, for all the goods of the archbishopric, wherever they may be. |
