Summary: Certification by the official of the archdeacon of the East Riding, following receipt of a commission of the archbishop (recited), dated at Scrooby, 7 January 1401, of execution of an inquisition into the patronage of the bailiffs and burgesses of Scarborough to the chantry of St Stephen in the church of St Mary, Scarborough, after which he had performed the institution and induction of John de Neuton [Newton] to the chantry, vacant by the resignation of Richard Shroppam [Shropham].
