| Summary: | Mandate to the official of the archdeacon of York, having heard from John de Warenna [Warenne], earl of Surrey, that, while a minor and in the custody of the late Edward I, he was compelled to contract matrimony with Joan, daughter of the then count of Bar (Barre), related to him in the third and fourth degrees, to cite Joan in the castles of Conisbrough (Conyngesburgh) and Sandal (Sandale) to appear before the archbishop or his commissary to answer charges of consanguinity. |
