| Summary: | Certification of a commission of the archbishop (recited), dated at the archbishop's castle of Cawood, 13 October 1403, by the chapter of York, in the absence of the dean, for an exchange of benefices between Alan Cochon, vicar of Aldbrough (Aldeburgh) in the jurisdiction of the chapter, and Robert Bardesay (Bardsey), vicar of Paull in the jurisdiction of the archbishop. Bardesay's resignation having been received by them, they instituted Cochon to the vicarage of Paull, patrons: the abbot and convent of Kirkstall; with the archbishop's order, dated at Scrooby, 19 October 1403, to the official of the archdeacon of the East Riding for the induction of Cochon to the vicarage of Paull (two entries). |
