Summary: Mandate to the official of the court of York to inquire into those who have, it is reported, abducted the vicar of Newark, the archbishop's obedientiary, from his manse in the vicarage and taken him to the monastery of Sempringham to be committed to the prior's prison there, and into those who have aided them, taking counsel and treating with the archbishop's commissary, Master Walter de Langeton [Langton], and others of his council to ensure this business is manfully prosecuted. Another is to be substituted for him while he remains in prison. Further order to levy any penalties due to the archbishop, the register having been scrutinised, for defects in repairs to the chancel of the church of Newark.
