| Summary: | Deputation from the Archbishop of York to the Bishop of Ely to deal directly with collectors of the clerical tenth in York province granted to Edward II in 1319 (the abbot of York, St Mary's Abbey, in the archdeaconries of York, Richmond and Cleveland; the abbot of Selby in the archdeaconry of the East Riding and the prior of Thurgarton in the archdeaconry of Nottingham); with a request to the bishop (as chancellor) to confirm the conditions on which the grant was made to the king. Recites commission to collect from Edward II to the Archbishop, dated at Westminster, 18 July 1319. |
