| Summary: | Mandate to the official of York to inquire, as quickly as he can, into the complaints of William de Walcote, archdeacon of the East Riding, that ministers appointed in the archdeaconry by the official and the dean have contravened longstanding and laudable customs relating to the correction of parishioners to the prejudice of William and his archdeaconry, and into how the archbishop's predecessors and archdeacons of the East Riding have observed such customs in times past; he is further to cite the official of the archdeacon at Epiphany next to appear at the next law day after Candlemas. |
