| Summary: | Royal writ to the sheriff of Yorkshire ordering him to distrain William [Greenfield], archbishop of York, so that he has John de Hustwait [Husthwaite], his clerk, before the barons of the Exchequer at Westminster on the morrow of St John the Baptist to answer Hugh le Mercer of Leicester (Leycestre) concerning £38 13s 8d which Edward I owed to Mercer for wax and spices taken for the king's use by Husthwaite, then keeper of the king's wardrobe, for which Husthwaite has received allowance in his account but has not yet paid. Witnessed by William de Careleton [Carlton]. |
