| Summary: | Letters patent of the archbishop, following receipt of a to writ of King Edward II (recited), dated at Westminster, 27 August 1309, informing him of the king's grant of the prebend of South Newbald in York Minster to Master John de Nassington, king's clerk, in the king's gift by reason of a vacancy of the see and in the hands of King Edward I, the king's father, and ordering his installation, containing the archbishop's commission to John de Merkyngfeld [Markenfield], canon of York and subtreasurer of York, and the dean of Christianity, to proceed in the matter concerning the prebend, since it was claimed by Peter de Sabaudia [Savoy]. |
