| Summary: | Mandate to the dean of Pontefract, as per a synodal constitution recently proclaimed in York, to publicly denounce throughout the deanery all those who, according to the petition of John de Clone, the archbishop's household clerk and keeper of the chapel of Ferrybridge, have stolen goods, chalices, books, vestments and many other ornaments belonging to the chapel, thereby breaching ecclesiastical liberty and incurring excommunication, and offering absolution to such malefactors who wish to make due satisfaction, but enquiring into their names; with orders to certify his actions by letters patent and close. |
