Letters patent of King Edward III, issued following deliberation in the parliament held at Westminster on Wednesday in mid Lent, and at the petition of John [Stratford], archbishop of Canterbury and all the clergy of England, protecting ecclesiastical property and tenure, particularly during voidances where the heir is a minor, and rights of presentation, from unjust seizure of temporalities of the archbishop of York during a vacancy and creation of waste by royal ministers.
