Appointment by the dean and chapter of York of Robert de Valoignes [Waleyns or Valognes], canon of York, and Master Ralph de Yarewell, official of the archdeacon of Nottingham and rector of Cotham, and Master William de Langeton [Langton], advocate of the court of York, as proctors to discuss with the king's chancellor and treasurer the lands and temporalities of the vacant archbishopric of York according to the statute made in the parliament at Westminster, 16 April 1340 (the Wednesday after Sunday in mid Lent last) and to seek and beseech before the king, Edward [of Woodstock], duke of Cornwall and keeper of England and his counsellors that the conditions lately granted by the clergy in a biennial tenth be upheld.
