Appointment by the dean and chapter of York of John de Wodehous, fellow canon; Master William de Langton, advocate of the court of York; Hamo de Hessay [? Sessay], citizen of York, and John de Aslacby [Aslackby], clerk, as proctors for carrying out business of the chapter before the king and council concerning the extent of the temporalities of the archiepiscopate of York and their assignment to the dean and chapter during the vacancy of the see; with a memorandum dated 10 October 1340 showing that the letter was delivered to Hamo de Cessay [Sessay or Hessay], with others addressed to the archbishop of Canterbury; the bishop of Chichester, chancellor of the Exchequer; John de Sancto Paulo [St Paul]; William Basset; Thomas de Malghom [Malham] and Robert de Pernynk for help in the matter, as well as the extent of the temporalities made in the county of Gloucestershire under the seal of Roger Hillary and William de Chiltenham [Cheltenham].
