Summary:	Letters patent of the chapter of York inspecting letters of Master Robert de Nassington, official of the court of York, sede vacante, the chapter's commissary, dated at Retford on 23 October 1340, themselves reciting various other letters of Nassington and of the official of the archdeacon of Nottingham, dated 4 October 1340, confirming the institution and induction of Henry de Raghton, chaplain, to a moiety of the church of Treswell (Tyreswell), patron: dean and chapter of York.
Note:	For further details regarding the presentation of Raghton, which had been refused by Archbishop Melton in 1337, see Calendar of Papal Registers, ii, p. 541, a papal commission to investigate Raghton's rival for the benefice, John de Chaddesden, who had allegedly held the moiety by force, and cut the tails off the horses of the chapter and of Raghton's proctor and notary.
