| Summary: | Letter to Master Alan de Neusum [Newsham], rector of Bingham, official in the city and diocese of Durham during a vacancy of the see of Durham, concerning those impeding the archbishop and his official and ministers from carrying out their jurisdiction during the vacancy, including an ordination of the archbishop (recited), dated at Bishopthorpe, 24 March 1311, notifying the prior and chapter of Durham and clergy and people of the city and diocese of Durham of the appointment of Master Alan and emphasising the archbishop's jurisdiction during a vacancy of the see. |
