Summary:	Writ of certiorari of Edward III asking that the Exchequer be informed whether the church of Marnham had been appropriated to the prior of the hospital of St John of Jerusalem in England at the time of the two papal tenths imposed upon the clergy by Pope John XXII [in 1322] and granted to Edward II. The information was to be returned by the quindene of Michaelmas, and in the meantime any demands upon the prior are to be stayed and any sequestrations restored. Response that Marnham church had been appropriated by the Templars for 27 years, and on their suppression was transferred to the Hospitallers, who have held it for over eight years.
Note:	The timeframe mentioned here would seem to confirm the details of a petition to the crown made by the last pre-appropriation rector of Marnham, John de Blebury, in c. 1324. TNA SC 8/95/4734.
