Summary: Certification by John de Neuton [Newton], doctor of laws, vicar general, to the archbishop that a convocation of the clergy of York province which met on 17 March 1393 granted Richard II half a clerical tenth, following receipt of the archbishop's mandate to the official of York to assemble convocation and do so (recited), dated at Winchester on 20 January 1393, itself reciting the royal mandate, dated at Westminster on 21 December 1392, and also an order of the archbishop to Walter [Skirlaw], bishop of Durham and Thomas [Appleby], bishop of Carlisle, and the prelates and clergy of York province, to attend convocation and grant the subsidy, dated at the archbishop's household by Westminster on 8 March 1393.
