| Summary: | Notification to the dean and chapter of York Minster of a royal writ (recited), dated at York, 26 November 1318, ordering a reassessment of benefices devastated by attacks of the Scots, unable to pay the tenth previously granted by the pope, and to return the new valuation [Nova Taxatio] to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer, also a reassessment of prebends and temporalities annexed to the spiritualities of the Minster destroyed and never assessed for the tenth, and to inform the collectors in the diocese of the new valuations (incomplete). |
