| Summary: | Memorandum of the absolution by the archbishop of Geoffrey le Taverner of Nottingham from excommunication imposed upon him for laying violent hands on Robert de Calvyngton [Calvington], clerk, to the point of bloodshed, within the churchyard of Nottingham, St Mary, on condition that he do penance and pay procurations for the reconciliation of the churchyard. Note that the dean of Nottingham was ordered to enforce those actions and to publish renew the sentence of excommunication if needed. |
