| Summary: | Exhortation and mandate to the prior and convent of Monk Bretton, where certain dissensions have previously broken out to the detriment of both spiritualities and temporalities, to lay aside all disputes and treat each other in a fraternal manner, each acting humbly according to his estate, and to come together in convent to treat on the matters touching the better rule of the house, the archbishop superseding at present the correction of those things found by Master John de Crakhall [Crakehall], whom the archbishop had sent to them to survey the state of their house both in its head and in its members, and to refer to the archbishop everything he found. |
