Summary: Letter to the king or his chancellor concerning the reasons why the archbishop was unable to admit Richard de Donecastr' [Doncaster], king's clerk, to the hospital of St Mary Magdalene, Ripon, following receipt of the king's mandate to do so, dated at [Kings] Langley, 22 January 1309 (recited), since Nicholas de Bondegate [Bondgate], chaplain, was in possession, following collation by the archbishop.
