Summary: Notification by the king of receipt of 800 marks from the archbishop, in the name of Pope John XXII, as a loan of part of the monies collected in the diocese of York for the first year of the six papal tenths imposed in 1312, to be repaid to the pope within five years, by the hands of Roger de Northburgh, king's clerk, keeper of the wardrobe.
Note:
The document appears to be an acknowledgement of receipt, but is stated to be a bond (obligatio), presumably because the money was intended to be repaid to the pope.
