| Summary: | Request to the dean and chapter of York Minster to treat with the archbishop's commissaries, Master Robert de Beverlaco [Beverley], the archbishop's official, Master John de Crakhalle [Crakehall], doctor of decrees, and Master William de Fenton, the archbishop's steward, in the matter of their consent to the resolution of the dispute that has arisen between the abbot and convent of St Mary, York, and the community of the city of York concerning the liberty of Bootham (Buthum), which has been awarded to the citizens, whereby King Edward III has granted licence for the abbey's appropriation of the church of Rudston (Ruddestan) on account of their expenses in pursuing their rights to the liberty. |
