| Summary: | Commission to the abbot of St Mary, York, to collect the biennial tenth granted by Archbishop William [Zouche], his predecessor, and the clergy of the diocese and province of York at the request of King Edward III for the defence and salvation of the kingdom of England and of the English Church, especially the diocese and province of York, against hostile incursions of aliens, and on account of urgent necessity, and to collect all arrears so that a moiety of the second year is paid at St John the Baptist next [24 June], with all arrears levied from previous terms. |
