| Summary: | Mandate to the chapter of York for the admission of John de Merkingfeld [Markenfield], king's clerk, to the prebend of Warthill, on the presentation of King Edward I, in the king's gift by reason of the late vacancy of the see, following receipt of royal letters (recited), dated at Carlisle, 19 May 1307 and 12 June 1307, ordering the installation of John, and the archbishop having ordered a citation to opposers of the installation, no one but John had appeared. |
