Summary: Request to the official of the court of Durham to receive and admit, in the Galilee chapel at Durham on the third judicial day after the octave of Martinmas, those witnesses, William de Wygington [Wigginton], etc., nominated by Richard Gocelyn, incumbent of the church of St George, Fishergate, York, defendant in the cause in which he is involved with Richard, son of Nicholas le Saucer of York, who has been presented, plaintiff, concerning possession of that church. The archbishop had had commissioned the official of the court of York and J. [John] de Notyngham [Nottingham, receiver of York, together with Nicholas de Hugate [Huggate], canon of York Minster, and the dean of Christianity of York, to determine this, and these witnesses are under the distraint of the bishop of Durham. With mandate to commit to writing the depositions and the process and to send them to the archbishop or his fellow commissioners in this matter.
