Summary: Institution by Robert de Forda [Ford], canon of York, vicar general, of John de Byrstall [Burstall], deacon, to the vicarage of South Kirkby (South Kerkeby), patron: prior and convent of Nostell, and order to the archdeacon of York or his official for his induction; with a memorandum that John was admitted and instituted under the protestation that if the archbishop wished the vicarage to be included under the papal authority to present six clerks to vacant churches of which religious houses were patrons, then the vicar should surrender that vicarage immediately without any trouble (three entries).
