| Summary: | Mandate to the dean of Retford (Redford), pursuant to the petition of Thomas de Neuton [Newton], husband of Alice, natural daughter of Sir John de Harclay, knight, and Lady Ermingeria, his wife, that Lady Isabella de Multon [Moulton], relict of Thomas de Multon, lawfully made her last will in her manor of Kingshaugh (Kyngeshawe) in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and bequeathed many items to Alice before dying, and that others have concealed her testament and unjustly prevent Alice receiving Isabella's goods in the manor in bequest, not having the testament registered or proved and instead converting her testament to their own uses, to inquire into the making of Isabella's testament and its executors and into the goods found in the manor of Kingshaugh at the time of her death; with order to certify his findings by letters patent. |
