| Summary: | Certification by the official of the court of York to the archbishop, following receipt of the archbishop's mandate (recited), dated at Cawood, 31 October 1308, to discover the names of those who had infringed the liberties of the church of York and excommunicate them, of having done so, naming the principals of those who broke the gates of the archbishop's bailey at York as Thomas Wyles of York; Henry Goldsmith (Aurifaber) of York, and Godin (Godinus) Braban, with others (named), armed with bows and arrows, who were cited to appear before the archbishop; with a memorandum of their absolution, as was shown on the dorse of the official's certificate. |
