| Summary: | Certification by Richard [Bury], bishop of Durham, of receipt and confirmation of a commission of the archbishop of York (recited), dated at Bishop Burton (Burton' iuxta Beverl') on 18 July 1343, to expedite an exchange of benefices between John de Houton', dean of Bishop Auckland (Auklandia), Durham diocese, and Master John Mauduyt, rector of Hatfield (Hattefeld), York diocese, with the information that he has instituted Houton into the church of Hatfield, in the person of Ralph de Clipeston [Clipston], his proctor, reserving his induction and oath of obedience to the archbishop. |
