| Summary: | Request to the bishop of Lincoln [John Dalderby, one of the principal collectors of the seven papal tenths for the Holy Land imposed by Pope Clement V in 1305], that he order the subcollectors and auditors to cease their attempts to levy the first two years of that tax on the archbishop's possessions in the dioceses of Lincoln and Worcester, as the possessions of the archbishopric are customarily taxed together in one place, namely by the collectors of York, regardless of where they are in England. Similar letters to the bishop of London [the other principal collector], and to Master Elias de Muscham [Muskham] and Master William de Halsted [Halstead], the bishops' commissaries (two entries). |
