Summary: Note of delivery to Walter de Whiteby [Whitby] of the principal process in a small leather sack sealed with the archbishop's lesser seal, with the commission registered above [that is, to Master Robert de Sauthorp, rector of Appleton le Street (Apelton in Rydale), doctor of canon law; Master Henry de Wylton, commissary general of the archbishop's official of York, and Roger de Mar, rector of Whixley (Quixeleye), to to act in the matter of the appeal in the archbishop's court of York concerning the church of Simonburn (Symundesburn), Durham diocese, between Robert de Cotingham [Cottingham], calling himself rector and the bishop of Durham, for delivery to the commissioners.]
