Summary: Indenture made between Archbishop Thoresby and John de Topclif [Topcliffe], burgess of the town of Ripon, by which Thoresby granted for his life to Topcliffe, his heirs and assigns the site of his manor of Whitcliffe (Wyteclyve presde Rypon) with all appurtenances, and for which Topcliffe, Roger de Clotherom [Clotherholme] and Robert de Brunhous [Brownhouse] bound themselves in £100, to be paid to the archbishop at Christmas (details given).
