| Summary: | Commission of John [Buckingham], bishop of Lincoln (recited), dated at the bishop's manor of Stow Park, 10 July 1396, to Master William de Cawod [Cawood], licentiate in laws, canon of the collegiate churches of Southwell and Ripon, and Richard de Arnall [Arnold], bachelor of laws [sequestrator in the archdeaconry of Nottingham], to expedite the exchange of benefices between Richard Ousthorp [Owsthorpe], rector of the parish church of Campsall, York diocese, and Master John de Botlesham [Bottisham] [archbishop's chancellor], rector of the parish church of Brampton (Brampton iuxta Northamton), Lincoln diocese; with certification by Cawod of the resignation of both parties from their benefices, Ousthorp by his proctor, William de Brunby [Burnby], chaplain, and the admission and institution of Botlesham to the church of Campsall and Ousthorp to the church of Brampton, patron: Thomas [de Berkeley], lord of Berkeley (Barkeley), and a note of an order to the official of the archdeacon of Northampton for his induction (witnesses named, including Master Thomas Grenewode [Greenwood], notary public), also a note of subsequent letters of the archbishop for the induction of Botlesham to the church of Campsall. |
