| Summary: | Papal indult (licence) of Pope Nicholas IV to Master Ralph de Halton, rector of Halton, Lincoln diocese, to hold the church of Halton and also the church of Darton (Derton), York diocese; with a memorandum that on 17 October 1313, in the cellar below the archbishop's chamber at Rufford (Rughford), Master Ralph de Halton appeared with the licence before Master William de Beverlaco [Beverley], Master John de Roderham [Rotherham] and Master John de Sutton, but that the archbishop neither saw nor heard it (insert). |
