Entry No: 1
Entry Type:
Commission
Section Type:
Chapters
Summary: Commission to the archdeacon of Nottingham; the archdeacon of Cleveland and Master Robert de Ford, canon of York, to act in the matter between Master Roger de Drokenesford [Droxford], clerk, and Walter de Bedewynd [Bedwyn], treasurer of York, concerning the prebend of Wilton in York Minster.
Note:
The addressees have been altered from Master John de Craucumbe [Craucombe], archdeacon of the East Riding; Master Robert de Forda [Ford] and Master Robert de Pikering [Pickering], with a note to show that Master John and Master Robert de Pikering were unable to undertake the commission. There are also three alterations to the date and place of dating: firstly, Carlisle has been altered to Lanercost, then to Warthill, dated ? 5 Kal Maij, 27 April 1307, but this interlined date is not clear. Finally, a memorandum at the head of this side of the folio gives the date at Kal Maij, 1 May 1307, at Warthill. Manicules show that the memorandum relates to this entry.
