Summary: Certification to the archbishop from Alan de Neusum [Newsham], official in the bishopric of Durham during a vacancy of the see, that he had sent out citations to various higher clergy, heads of religious houses and others (named) to attend a council to be held in York Minster on 24 May 1311 for a trial of the order of Knights Templar, following receipt of the archbishop's mandate to do so (addressed to him as Master Alan de Neusam [Newsham], rector of Bingham, archbishop's official in the bishopric of Durham during a vacancy of the see), dated at Bishop Wilton, 21 February 1311 (recited).
