Summary: Mandate to the archbishop's official of York for the publication of letters of Gauscelin [de Jean], cardinal priest of SS Marcellino e Pietro, priest, vice-chancellor of the Apostolic Chancery, and Luca [Fieschi], cardinal deacon of Santa Maria in Via Lata, to the archbishop, enclosing a papal bull of Pope John XXII, (recited), dated at Avignon, 1 May 1317, containing the declaration of a truce between King Edward II of England and Robert, King of Scots, to last for two years; the official was to display one copy sealed by the archbishop on the main door of York Minster; with a note of a similar mandate addressed to J [John of Halton], bishop of Carlisle, archbishop's suffragan bishop, also sent to all suffragan bishop (two entries).
