Summary: Mandate from the archbishop to the official of York or his commissary-general, enclosing a papal bull of Pope John XXII (Avignon, 17 December 1319 (?recte 1318), recited), that all former Knights Templar should enter religious houses within three months (conditions given). The archbishop's mandate was for the citation of all former Templars from the city or diocese of York to appear before the archbishop, for the enforcement of the bull and so that performance could be certified. Similar letter of the same date and place sent to the dean and chapter of York Minster (fol. 634 r).
