Summary: Appropriation of the church of Barnby Dun (Barneby super Done) to the provost and chaplains of a chantry founded by John Giffard of Cotterstock (Cotherstok) in the church of St Andrew, Cotterstock, Lincoln diocese (details given), allowing them to take possession on the death or resignation of Master John de Barneby [Barnby], the present rector; with notarial subscription by William Afridi of Thorpland (Thorplonde), called of Fakenham, clerk and notary public, of Norwich diocese (witnesses named). A marginal memorandum notes that this appropriation was altered and rewritten in the chapter in York on 30 January 1347, in the presence various witnesses (named).
