Summary: Ordination of a perpetual secular vicarage in the church of Brayton, reciting letters of Pope Clement VI appropriating the church to the abbot and convent of Selby and reserving to the archbishop the ordination of a perpetual vicarage (details given); with notarial subscription by John de Aldefeld, notary public (witnesses named).
Marginalia:
Initial capital decorated with leaf motifs, and other capitals in top line decorated. The beginnings of sections of the text placed in boxes for emphasis. Marginal headings at the tops and sides of pages: 'ordinatio vicarie' on fol. 21v and 'ecclesie de Brayton' on fol. 22r. The words 'de Braiton' have been added in a later hand to the heading in the side margin of fol. 21v.
