Summary: Response of the commissary general of the official of the court of York to a request from the archbishop (dated at Westminster, 9 November 1325) to enquire into the appropriation of the church of Marnham, in accordance with a writ of certiorari from Edward II (dated 6 November 1325) [both recited in full]. The commissary general noted that the church had been appropriated to the Knights Templar twenty-six years previously, but on their suppression it had been transferred to the Hospitallers, who had then held it for over eight years.
