Summary: Composition made before Stephen [Etienne Aldobrandi], archbishop of Toulouse [Tholosan'], papal chamberlain, Reginald [de Maubernard], bishop of Lisbon (Ulyxbonen'), papal treasurer, and William Textoris, clerk of the college of cardinals, between them and Richard de Drax, doctor of laws, advocate at the Roman Curia, and William de Swafeld, clerk of Lincoln diocese, proctors of Archbishop Thoresby, in the matter relating to the annual obligation in 300 marks owed by the archbishops of York to visit the Apostolic See every three years, first acknowledged by Thoresby's proctors on 28 September 1353; with notarial instrument drawn up by John Palaysini, clerk of the diocese of Catania (Sacarcen'), notary public (details given).
