| Summary: | Vacated entry, stating that on 16 July 1348, Brother Walter de Haldanby [Haldenby], monk of Selby and proctor for the abbot and convent, appeared in a tribunal in the chapel of the archbishop's manor of Cawood and acknowledged that the monastery owed Master Gilbert de Welton, clerk, an annual pension of 40 marks for life for his services to the monastery, and the archbishop adjudged that the pension was owed and ordained for its payment (various documents recited); with notarial subscriptions by Master John de Aldefeld and Nicholas de Whiteby [Whitby], notaries public (witnesses named), and a subscription by the abbot and convent of Selby, dated at Selby on 9 August 1348. |
