Summary: Letters of Thomas Arundel, archbishop of York, papal legate (witnessed and endorsed by John Russell, clerk, notary public), absolving Richard II from the sentence of excommunication incurred by his marriage to Isabella, daughter of Charles VI, to whom he was related within the third or fourth degree of consanguinity. Reciting bulls of Boniface IX to Richard II, dated at Rome, 27 July 1396, and to the archbishops of Canterbury, York and Dublin to absolve Richard and Isabella from their sentence of excommunication for their marriage, or because Isabella may have adhered to Robert, the antipope.
